Simple Visa Application Procedures

Visa application procedures vary depending on the country or territory you plan to visit, as each has its own specific requirements. You need to determine your destination and the purpose of your trip, prepare the necessary documents, research the visa issuing authority, complete the application process, and then wait to receive your visa.

What Documents Are Required for a Visa Application?

Whether you are applying for a tourist visa, a family visit visa, or a business visa, your application must include the following documents:

Personal Documents:

• Original passport valid for at least 6 months with blank visa pages.

• Two (02) international standard photos (4×6 cm, taken within the last 6 months, bareheaded, wearing a white shirt, with a white background).

• Completed visa application form (as per template), fully filled in and signed (the signature must match the one in the passport).

• In case the household registration book has been withdrawn, submit the original Residence Confirmation Certificate (form CT07, issued by the local police authority).

• Notarized copies of Birth Certificate and National ID/ Citizen ID Card.

• Original Curriculum Vitae with local authority verification (translated into English).

• Proof of marital status: Certificate of single status / Marriage Certificate / Divorce Certificate.

Financial Documents:

• Notarized copies of personal bank statements for the last 3 months.

• Bank balance confirmation certificate with a minimum value of USD 5,000 – 7,000.

• Other financial proof (land ownership certificate, car registration, etc.).

Employment / Professional Status Documents:

1. For government officials/civil servants:

• Recruitment decision or appointment decision (for those holding official positions).

• Approved leave application for travel (original in Vietnamese with notarized English translation, or issued directly in English).

• Employment confirmation letter.

2. For business owners:

• Business Registration Certificate.

• Tax receipts for the last 3 months.

3. For other cases:

• For company employees: Employment contract, employment confirmation letter, and a notarized copy of the company’s Business Registration Certificate.

• For retirees: Retirement decision issued by the relevant authority, retirement card, or pension book.

• For housewives: Confirmation from the local ward/commune authority.

Other Notes:

• When applying for a visa, especially a tourist visa, if family members are traveling together, each member’s file must include proof of family relationship as well as financial and employment documents of the accompanying family member.

• Children traveling with parents will use financial proof from either the father or mother.

• Applicants who frequently travel abroad for various purposes should select the appropriate visa type (tourist visa, business visa, family visit visa, etc.) based on their travel purpose.
